From 1980 to 1982, Attorney Francis Lane served as First Assistant County Attorney for Rockingham County. In this position, Attorney Lane gained extensive court and trial experience and skills handling the prosecution of major crimes, as well as Driving Under the Influence (DWI) and motor vehicle violation offenses.

Since 1982, Attorney Lane has engaged in the private practice of law serving the diverse needs of families, businesses and municipalities throughout New Hampshire.

During the course of his legal career, Attorney Lane has had extensive experience successfully representing clients who have sustained bodily injuries and damages as the result of motor vehicle accidents, accidents involving trucks, bicycles and motorcycles, as well as slip and fall accidents, construction injuries, dog bites and various claims caused by the negligence of others.

Lane Law Offices has also developed a large family Law practice and respected reputation representing clients in divorce and separation proceedings, as well as the broad range of domestic issues including child custody, parental rights, child support, alimony, adultery and fault claims, asset division and debt allocation, domestic violence, and grandparents rights. Established as an experienced trial lawyer, early in his legal career Attorney Lane also recognized the importance of developing alternate methods to settle and bring closure to domestic disputes in a manner which would avoid unnecessary long term damage, recrimination, and burdensome financial expense to the parties, which so often results from the adversarial conflict which occurs in the courtroom. Having completed the necessary comprehensive training, Attorney Lane has attained Certification as a Family Law Mediator by the State of New Hampshire Marital Mediator Certification Board and has been appointed by the New Hampshire Family Division Court to serve as a Court Marital Mediator. In 1993 Attorney Lane was appointed by the New Hampshire Superior Court to also serve as a Mediator in the Civil Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, and has served in this capacity since the inception of the program.

In addition to his trial advocacy and mediation work, Attorney Lane has always proudly maintained an active and extensive practice representing individuals, companies, banking institutions, associations, and municipalities in a broad range of legal matters including real estate acquisitions and sales, contracts, easements, leases, as well as zoning and boundary disputes. Attorney Lane and his staff have had the privilege since 1982 to provide legal representation and counsel to many of the established small and large, local and regional, family businesses and corporations and to assist new clients in the successful establishment of new enterprises.

Attorney Lane has been ranked "High to Very High" for his legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell, a preeminent, internationally recognized authority engaged in the evaluation and rating of licensed attorneys.

Attorney Lane is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, and previously served as Governor at Large of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association. He is currently a member of the Family Law and Municipal Law sections of the Bar Association.

In addition, Attorney Lane has been an active member of our local community. Between 1994 and 1999, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce, and was appointed Chairman of the Board in 1997. In 1999 he received the Chairman's Award for Service from the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce. Attorney Lane is also a former Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Newfields, Chairman and past member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and a past member of the Newfields Planning Board. He also has previous experience as an Instructor of Business Law through the University of New Hampshire Continuing Education Program.

Attorney Lane served as Town Counsel to the Town of Newfields, where he resides with his wife Sheila and family, from 1989 until 2013 when he withdrew from this position to serve the firm's private clients.
